Welcome to Day 11 of our Jaipur–Goa–Mumbai Mega Road Trip 🚙🌧️
Today’s journey was one of the longest and toughest drives of our return leg — traveling from Mumbai to Indore, covering around 600 km in nearly 14 hours.
🚗 Starting Trouble – Mumbai Traffic
We began our day at 8:30 AM, but just fighting through Mumbai’s heavy morning traffic took almost 2 hours before we reached the highway. This delayed the trip and made the long drive even more challenging.
🛣️ Route Taken – Mixed Highways
We avoided the Ahmedabad highway assuming high traffic, and instead took the Mumbai → Nashik → Indore route, which wasn’t as beneficial as expected.
Our route included:
Mumbai → Nashik Highway
Maharashtra Expressway Sections – good roads & smooth driving
NH60 – moderate traffic, mixed conditions
NH52 (Final Stretch) – manageable but tiring towards the end
🕒 Total Drive Time & Distance
Distance: ~600 km
Total Travel Time: ~14 hours
Breaks: essential due to long, continuous stretches
⚠️ Honest Experience
The route is:
Scenic in parts
Smooth on some Maharashtra expressways
But tiring due to Mumbai traffic, diversions, and long-distance stretches
