This video is part of our 4-Day Jaipur to Rishikesh and Haridwar Road Trip Series, where we explored Uttarakhand’s spiritual and scenic side while traveling comfortably with our pet dog Maggie in our Tata Safari.

DAY 1 – Jaipur to Rishikesh Road Trip | Janki Setu Visit
Day 1 was the longest driving day of the trip. We started our journey from Jaipur at around 8:30 AM and reached Rishikesh around 7:00 PM, covering approximately 530 km.
The route taken included NE4 (Delhi–Mumbai Expressway), DND–KMP Expressway, NE3 Expressway, and Delhi–Haridwar Road.
The expressway experience was smooth and comfortable, making the long drive manageable even with a pet onboard. The Tata Safari handled the highways effortlessly, offering excellent comfort throughout the journey.
After checking in, we visited Janki Setu in the evening. The bridge looked absolutely beautiful with lights on both sides. Walking across the bridge, watching the Ganga flowing below, and capturing stunning night visuals was a perfect way to end Day 1.
We wrapped up the day at a pet-friendly restaurant, ensuring Maggie was comfortable after a long travel day.
---
DAY 2 – Ganga Beach, Ram Jhula and River Rafting (Easy Rapids)
Day 2 was all about exploration and experiences.
We started the day at a relaxed pace and left around 11:00 AM from our Airbnb to visit Ganga Beach. Since cars are not allowed via Jhula routes, we took a longer drive crossing a landslide-prone area and the Ganga Barrage.
Ganga Beach offered crystal-clear water, a peaceful atmosphere, cold weather, refreshing vibes, and some amazing photo opportunities. Spending time here was one of the most relaxing moments of the trip.
Later, we visited Ram Jhula, enjoyed tea at the iconic Chotiwala restaurant, and walked across the bridge while soaking in the spiritual surroundings.
We then met a rafting company and opted for easy rapid river rafting, which is family-friendly and safe. Maggie also joined us during rafting, making this a truly pet-inclusive adventure.
In the evening, we visited Triveni Ghat for Ganga Aarti. Due to heavy crowds, the experience felt a bit rushed and below expectations, but it still added to the overall journey.
---
DAY 3 – Haridwar Tour | Har Ki Pauri, Mansa Devi and Ganga Aarti
Day 3 was dedicated entirely to Haridwar, which is about a 45-minute drive from Rishikesh.
We drove to Har Ki Pauri parking, parked our Tata Safari there, and began exploring on foot. Our first stop was Vishnu Ghat, where we spent quality time near the Ganga, experiencing the holy water, calm surroundings, and spiritual energy.
After that, we took an e-rickshaw to the ropeway area and visited Mansa Devi Temple via ropeway. Pets are not allowed on the ropeway, so this part of the visit was done in turns to ensure Maggie was never left alone.
In the evening, we returned to Har Ki Pauri to attend the Ganga Aarti. Although the visuals were from a distance, the chants, atmosphere, and river flow during sunset made it a memorable experience. Watching the Ganga during sunset was one of the most peaceful moments of the entire trip.
---
DAY 4 – Rishikesh to Jaipur Return Journey
Day 4 marked the return journey back to Jaipur using the same route.
The drive back gave us time to reflect on the entire trip — from smooth expressways and spiritual experiences to managing everything comfortably with a pet. This journey proved that with the right planning, a Jaipur–Rishikesh–Haridwar road trip is completely pet-friendly and enjoyable.
